Vintage (V & S) pickups

The V7, S1 and V8 on the EGEN8

The Vintage/ Single pickups (V & S) are a line of magnetic pickups for solid body electric guitars that are designed by and produced for Ibanez.

The Vintage pickups were partially replaced by the Infinity pickups on the entry-to-mid level models when production of those lines moved to Korea in 1994.

Vintage 1

Description: Neck humbucker usually paired with Vintage 2 in bridge. Slightly overwound for beefy, traditional rhythm sound.

Vintage 2

Model no.: IBZ V2 Construction: Humbucking Position: Bridge Magnet: Alnico 5

Description: Bridge humbucker usually paired with Vintage 1 in neck. Even toned with tight leads. Smooth top-end and added sustain.

Vintage 6

Description: Designed to work with Single 2 and Single 3 in SSH configuration, introduced in 1992. Even toned, bright, cutting lead humbucker. Medium output with complete clarity

Vintage 7

Description: Introduced in 1992. Tight, but bright for a neck humbucker. Very dynamic for chording and rhythm.

Vintage 8

Description: Introduced in 1992. Warm yet articulate lead pickup with enhanced overtones. Good harmonics without excessive brightness. Brighter than Vintage 2, not as bright as Vintage 6

Vintage 77

Description: V77/V87 custom designed pickups for down tuning. These pickups are specially designed for capturing more low-end by regenerating a wider tonal range. Instead of losing the low-end, they output it with rich, harmonic tone.
