If you've been following this blog, you're probably aware of the ongoing effort to bring this wiki back to life and make it into the Internet's most definitive resource for information about Ibanez guitars. This effort was undertaken this spring when I happened upon the wiki and realized what a great resource it is. Unfortunately, the wiki's founder had been inactive for the previous five years and the site was not being actively updated.

Our first step was to add articles for all of the models produced since 2011. This first stage was completed in mid-June.

We then re-focused our efforts on filling in the gaps of everything prior to 2011. This effort has been ongoing since and we recently completed documenting the models back through 1993. The site now includes every catalog model of solid body guitar from 1993 through 2016...24 years of comprehensive coverage. Along the way we've also added a number of spot models which never appeared in a catalog. I've personally added over 1,500 images, mostly of guitar models in various finishes.

We recently passed a milestone in that we've doubled the number of guitar model articles since early this year when this effort began! The site now documents over 1,500 distinct models. We're now 80% of the way (chronologically) toward our stated goal of providing comprehensive coverage of every solid body Ibanez guitar since 1987 (when the first JEMs and the original RG550 were introduced).

Every available catalog back to 1987 has now been added. It's just a matter now of working through all the redlinks for the pre-1993 catalog articles. If anyone would like to assist with that effort, please feel free to jump in.
