I noticed recently that its been a couple of months since I've posted on the ongoing effort to jumpstart this wiki and make it THE comprehensive online source for Ibanez information.

As of today every catalog model back to 2002 has been added to the wiki. That means we've now got 15 years of comprehensive coverage of Ibanez solid body guitars. With that, we're (chronologically) half way to our stated goal of covering the period from 1987 (when the first JEMs and the original RG550 were introduced) through present.

Currently this wiki contains 1,294 guitar model articles, which is an increase of over 100 since late June and of 539 articles since this jumpstart effort began. This represents an increase in coverage of over 70%.

Obviously, more work lies ahead, but the progress made to date has been substantial. My immediate goals include completing the coverage of the 1987–2001 period. Once that work is done I intend to refocus on wiki usability and design and making sure that existing articles are complete, thorough and well-sourced. After that, we can determine whether it is appropriate to expand the wiki's scope, whether that be chronologically (i.e. extending the coverage to pre-1987 guitars) or to start covering hollow body guitars, or something else. If anyone has any input on how you'd like to see this wiki evolve, I'd love to hear them.

However, I'm getting ahead of myself. For now the focus remains on solid bodies between 1987 and present. If anyone would like to assist with that effort, the best place to start is probably with the catalog articles. These provide a great resource to determine which models are missing — simply look for the red links. The catalogs are now available back to 1994, with plans to add the rest soon.
