2011 models (First batch)
Today is NAMM day, and that means new models! First of all, there are the new RG Premium series models: the RG920QMZ for the US market, the RG870QMZ for the EU market and the "workhorse" RG870Z. Ibanez also revised the complete non-Prestige RGA series. All RGA models now have the same horn scoops and Ibanez also added two EMG-equipped models to the lineup: The RGA72QME and the tremolo-equipped RGA72TQMZE. More models get the new Edge Zero II tremolo, including the RG350MZ, RG350MPZ and RGD320Z. Ibanez also finally comes with an affordable, tremolo-equipped RG7, the RG7320Z. Last but not least, there's the new APEX100 signature model for Korn's James "Munky" Shaffer and the somewhat new DragonForce guitarist Sam Totman model, the STM2.

Countdown to NAMM (January 13, 2011)
The Winter NAMM Show traditionally is the moment Ibanez reveals it's new lineup. This year's show starts January 13, but anyone who reads a couple of forums or blogs, already knows what to expect. Like last year, No new guitar models will be posted on Ibanez Wiki until Ibanez reveals them at Winter NAMM.
Currently, I'm very busy preparing everything, so do not expect many updates the coming week. All already available news concerning 2011 models can be found at Portal:2011.
Ibanez Japan spills some goods: Edge Zero II, RG3250MZ with matching headstock, etc.
Ibanez Japan revealed a couple of new and updated guitar models on their website this week, expected to be for sale next year. While this website is for the Japanese market only, it usually is an indication of what the whole world can expect next year.
The most remarkable news is the introduction of the Edge Zero II tremolo for a couple of models, including the RG350DXZ and RGA42TZ. The Edge Zero II is obviously based on the Edge Zero, but, as a replacement for the Edge III, in a more affordable package. Expect this one on more (if not all) previously Edge III-equipped models next year.

Time for Change.. (We're now called Ibanez Wiki)
First of all: this wiki has a new name. We dropped the middle name and changed it to Ibanez Wiki. I could have gone with Ibanezpedia or Shredipedia or Jemipedia or something like that, but in the end it is what it is: an Ibanez wiki.Ibanez Guitar Wiki, like it used to be called, was a little bit limiting: the ambition is to cover all things Ibanez, not just the guitars. We need a little bit more than only a new name for that, but we'll come to that eventually. I am aware that there's another "Ibanez Wiki" on the web, but since we're miles apart in approach, we'll be fine I guess.

Public announcement..
As some might have noticed, our host Wikia made some changes on the way all of their wikis (including this one) look and work. Apart from a new look that you may or may not like, the user interface has changed completely. As a whole, wiki managers like myself have lost a lot of control over 'their' wiki in 'favour' of a lot of new unwanted features. All in all, for a lot of contributors the changes were for the worst, even to the point where the complete community of one of the biggest and most popular Wikia wikis, the (previously) very awesome but completely unrelated WoWWiki, decided to leave and start a new wiki elsewhere. This is only the tip of the iceberg, as a lot of previously very active contributors all around the Wikia community…
