Revision as of 16:22, 1 April 2021
The UV70P is a seven-string Universe series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2013. It is a signature model of American guitarist Steve Vai. It is produced in Indonesia as part of the Premium line.
The UV70P sports a black finish with green accents (fret inlays, pickups, knobs, etc). It has an American basswood body bolted to a titanium reinforced maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with green dot position markers. Components include DiMarzio Blaze pickups with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil, an Edge Zero II-7 double locking tremolo bridge and a clear pickguard.
For 2018 the rosewood fretboard was replaced with panga panga; it reverted to rosewood for 2021.
The UV71P, which was introduced in 2015, is essentially the same guitar aside from the finish (color) and the fretboard inlays.
