The UEW1KOA is an UEW series acoustic/ electric ukulele model introduced by Ibanez for 2015. It is also known as the UEW1FC when sold in Japan packaged with a foam case, but that name was shared by a similarly named model made of mahogany. Both models were made in Japan by Fujigen.
The UEW1KOA features a concert style EW body with a soft Florentine cutaway constructed of a solid Hawaiian koa top on solid Hawaiian koa sides and back with an open pore finish. The round soundhole has an abalone rosette. It has a mahogany neck with a 19-fret rosewood fingerboard with Tree of life position markers. Components include a bone saddle in a rosewood bridge, a bone nut and chrome Grover open gear tuning machines. Electronics consist of a Fishman AG-UKE passive undersaddle pickup feeding a ¼" endpin output jack.
The UEW1KOA was discontinued after 2015. It was presumably produced in very limited numbers.
