The UCMD Predator is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1991. It was produced in the United States as part of the Metal Design series of the USA Custom line. The Metal Design models feature bodies which are covered in iridescent fabrics in exotic designs.[1]

The UCMD Predator features a basswood body covered in a Tiger stripes patterned fabric bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret maple fingerboard with sharktooth position markers. Components include a DiMarzio Super Distortion humbucking pickup at the bridge and a pair of DiMarzio VS-1 single coil pickups in the middle and neck positions, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.

  • This represents only the "stock" configuration, as customers could customize the guitar to their own desires. The customer could select the pickup configuration and pickups, the fretboard material and inlays, the headstock, the hardware color and more.

The UCMD Predator is a very rare model with only a few pieces made.
