The UCMD Metal Leopard is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1989. It was produced in the United States as part of the Metal Design series of the USA Custom line. The Metal Design models feature bodies which are covered in iridescent fabrics in exotic designs.[2]

The UCMD Metal Leopard features a basswood body covered in a Leopard patterned fabric bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with Sharktooth's position markers. Components include a DiMarzio IBZ/USA F1 humbucking pickup at the bridge position, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.

This represents only the "stock" configuration, as customers could customize the guitar to their own desires. The customer could select the pickup configuration and pickups, the fretboard material and inlays, the headstock, the hardware color and more.

The UCMD Metal Leopard was only produced in 1989.
