The UCMD Jungle Cat is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1990. It was produced in the United States as part of the Metal Design series of the USA Custom line. The Metal Design models feature bodies which are covered in iridescent fabrics in exotic designs.
The "UCMD Jungle Cat" features a basswood body covered in a exotic jaguar patterned fabric bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret, a Rosewood fingerboard with Sharktooths position markers. Components include a DiMarzio-made IBZ/USA F2 humbucking pickup at the bridge paired with IBZ/USA C2 single-coil at the middle and a IBZ/USA C2 single-coil in the neck position, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
The UCMD Jungle Cat was only produced in 1990.
This represents only the "stock" configuration, as customers could customize the guitar to their own desires. The customer could select the pickup configuration and pickups, the fretboard material and inlays, the headstock, the hardware color and more.
