The UCMD Golden Feline is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1989. It was produced in the United States as part of the Metal Design series of the USA Custom line. The Metal Design models feature bodies which are covered in iridescent fabrics in exotic designs.[2]
The UCMD Golden Feline features a basswood body covered in a Exotic golden stripes mixture fabric bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with sharktooth position markers and reverse headstock. Components include a IBZ/USA F3humbucking pickups at the bridge and IBZ/USA C2single coil pickup in the middle and a IBZ/USA F2humbucking pickups in the neck position, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
This represents only the "stock" configuration, as customers could customize the guitar to their own desires. The customer could select the pickup configuration and pickups, the fretboard material and inlays, the headstock, the hardware color and more.
