The UCGR Road Song is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1989. It was produced in the United States as part of the Graphic Design series of the USA Custom line. The Graphic Design models feature bodies which are handpainted by "some of the most skilled and imaginative artists in America".[1]
The "UCGR Road Song" features a unique road scene graphic on a blue finish basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with white dots position markers. Components include a DiMarzio-made IBZ/USA F2 humbucking pickup at the bridge paired with IBZ/USA C1 single-coil at the middle and a IBZ/USA C2 single-coil in the neck position, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
The image on this guitar, entitled "Road Song" was handpainted by Artist: Rick Klemann.
This represents only the "stock" configuration, as customers could customize the guitar to their own desires. The customer could select the pickup configuration and pickups, the fretboard material and inlays, the headstock, the hardware color and more.
The "UCGR Road Song" was limited to only 10 units.
