The UCGR Purple Marble is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1991. It was produced in the United States as part of the Graphic Design series of the USA Custom line.
The "UCGR Purple Marble" features a basswood body covered in a Amber/Purple Marble patterned fabric bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with Sharktooths position markers. Components include a DiMarzio IBZ/USA F2 humbucking pickup at the bridge and DiMarzio IBZ/USA C2 single coil pickups in the middle and neck positions, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
This represents only the "stock" configuration, as customers could customize the guitar to their own desires. The customer could select the pickup configuration and pickups, the fretboard material and inlays, the headstock, the hardware color and more.
The UCGR "Purple Marble" is a very rare model with only a few pieces made. It was discontinued after 1991. The UCGR Gray Marble is a related model.
