The UCGR Music of the Sphere is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1989. It was produced in the United States as part of the Graphic Design series of the USA Custom line. The Graphic Design models feature bodies which are handpainted by "some of the most skilled and imaginative artists in America".[1]
The "UCGR Music of the Sphere" features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24 jumbo frets, a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with pearl Sharktooths position markers. Components include a Dimarzio Super Distortion humbucking pickup at the bridge, a Ibanez Single Coil on the middle and a Dimarzio D151 PAF Pro humbucking pickup at the neck, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
This represents only the "stock" configuration, as customers could customize the guitar to their own desires. The customer could select the pickup configuration and pickups, the fretboard material and inlays, the headstock, the hardware color and more.
