The UCGR Dark Horse is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1989. It was produced in the United States as part of the Graphic Design series of the USA Custom line.
These RG guitars were custom made to order in the USA and featured custom graphics. All of these were highly desirable, but none more than the few models that were made in much smaller quantities and weren't in the catalog.
The "UCGR Dark Horse" features a basswood body bolted to a maple Wizard neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with Sharktooths position markers. Components includes a pair of DiMarzio IBZ/USA F2 humbucking pickups at the bridge and the neck positions and a DiMarzio IBZ/USA C2 single coil pickup in the middle position, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
The image on this guitar, entitled "Dark Horse" was handpainted and signed by Artist: Rick Klemann.
This represents only the "stock" configuration, as customers could customize the guitar to their own desires. The customer could select the pickup configuration and pickups, the fretboard material and inlays, the headstock, the hardware color and more.
The "UCGR Dark Horse" was only produced in 1989.
