I bought this guitar used, many, many years ago (the receipt reads Jan 30 XXXX (missing or faded to oblivion). based on my address, I am guessing the year is 1991 or 92. The markings on the headstock clearly read RG570, and the serial number indicates 1989 made in Japan. not sure why people don't post numbers, but I don't know much about guitars, lol so, I'll post most of mine. here is my question - everything I see online says this came w/ V1,S1,V2 pick-ups. but every picture I see shows the V1, S1,V2 in white on the pick-up. mine has no markings.
so, I was wondering, did they not all have the marking on them? or did someone swap out the pick-ups for something else before they traded it in?
I suppose I could take them out for a better look, but that seems a recipe for disaster. So, for now, I decided to come here and ask you all.
if the pictures are not helpful, let me know. I'll try to set up some better lighting. I was using the flash, but the long lens makes a shadow.
anyway, I never did learn to play, but I never parted with it either. so, other than the oxidation on the knobs and the neck plate, I may have the cleanest 30 year old guitar in the world.
FWIW, as a 53 year old, I'm actually trying to learn to play now. though for the time being, I'm practicing on a 1966 (or 7? Gibson SNs are near worthless it seems) Gibson B15 (I think, lol). I bought that in 1989. it is also in near mint condition. (face of shame)
any input is appreciated. thanks, ed. (can't believe this forum already had an ekw!!)
