{{ Info1 }} Template documentation: Image [edit] [purge]

This documentation is transcluded from Template:Image/doc.

Once uploaded, an image can be added by copy filling out this template (which can also be found by clicking 'Templates' on the menu left). A similar template is {{Topimage}} which can be used for guitar model pages.

How to use

These are the more standard and most used parameters. When not used, its wise to remove the complete rule, otherwise it might create the wrong output:

{{Image
|file    =
|caption =
|width   =
|category=
}}

What goes where?

  • file is for the file name, for example PGM100 JB.jpg (Defaults to I icon.png when not filled out).
  • caption is for the caption, for example This is an PGM100 JB (Defaults to file name).
  • width is for the file width, for example 400px (Defaults to 180px (standard thumbnail width))
  • category is for changing the border coloryto the category theme color (see Ibanez Guitar Wiki:Color coding. It reacts to series for red, models for purple, parts for yellow, views for green and universe for blue. Any other input will result in the default grey color.

Another useful parameter is float. It changes the position of the image frame. Default is right, but filling out left will position it right of the text. Note: If it's used it also has to be filled out, otherwise it might create the wrong output!

Unique features

  • bg changes the background color of the image itself. This is only useful for semi-transparent images such as GIF and PNG files. Default is an off-white color (See examples for a useful implementation).
  • sprite changes the enlarge icon in the bottom right corner. The only option right now is changing it into a copyright image for copyrighted files, which is done by filling out copyright. Note: If the category is set to 'models' the sprite will automatically set to 'Copyright'. It can be set back to defaul by filling out 'Enlarge'.

Examples

Placeholder

I icon
I icon.png Enlarge sprite
{{Image}}
gives -->

Which is not very useful, but could be used as a placeholder.

File only

PGM100 JB
PGM100 JB.jpg Enlarge sprite
{{Image
|file=PGM100 JB.jpg
}}
gives -->

Note the file name as caption

Basic parameters

PGM100 JB
this is the PGM100 Enlarge sprite
{{Image
|file    =PGM100 JB.jpg
|caption =this is the PGM100
|width   =400px
}}
gives -->

The same as above with caption and width set.

Using 'Category'

PGM100 JB
this is the PGM100 Enlarge sprite
{{Image
|file   =PGM100 JB.jpg
|caption=this is the PGM100
|category=series
}}
PGM100 JB
this is the PGM100 Red copyright sprite
{{Image
|file   =PGM100 JB.jpg
|caption=this is the PGM100
|category=models
}}
PGM100 JB
this is the PGM100 Enlarge sprite
{{Image
|file   =PGM100 JB.jpg
|caption=this is the PGM100
|category=parts
}}

Using the 'category' parameter (also note that the enlarge sprite changed to a copyright sprite for 'models').

Using 'bg'

ARX120 BK thumb
ARX120 BK Enlarge sprite

Some semi-transparent images don't look very good against a white background, note -->

ARX120 BK thumb
ARX120 BK Enlarge sprite

Now with the bg parameter set to a matching color -->

{{Image
|file    =ARX120_BK_thumb.gif
|caption =ARX120 BK
|bg      =#949087
}}
