This is perhaps a little off-topic for the Ibanez wiki, but provides a general/background info.
I'm not sure if there's a consensus on the Superstrat definition (reminds me of the "Shred" debates at Wikipedia).
Was EVH's HS (one slanted humbucker and a non-working single) "Frankenstrat" the first superstrat? And what about HH RGs and Sabers?
From Ibanez's point of view, already "historic" Roadstar/Pro Line should qualify, later solidified by JEM which is the father of modern RG.
Edit: This Wikipedia article seems to be pretty good, perhaps we don't need to replicate that work here?

Excellent rewrite! Correcting practically everything I disliked in the original.

- It was a little bit too general and wasn't really connected to the rest of the wiki. It would be really great to have more of these 'general' articles, like the ones about the Fender Stratocaster and Fender Telecaster, but clearly written from an "Ibanez point of view", so with links to Ibanez models and series, etc. --BramTalk! 19:19, June 1, 2010 (UTC)
