The TV650 is a Talman series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1994 (or perhaps late-1993). The Talman series is a retro-styled guitar reminiscent of the Fender Telecaster or a Danelectro.
The first generations Talman guitars were assembled in Japan by FujiGen. One notable feature of the TV series Talman models was the "Resoncast" body. Similar to vintage Danelectros, the resoncast composite gave the guitar a lighter weight and resonant body. TV650's resoncast body has a gravure quilted maple veneer top and is bolted to a birds-eye maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Components include a Gotoh made TZ100 floating synchronized tremolo bridge and dual Sky Vintage humbucking pickups flanking a Sky lipstick-style single coil mounted over a sound cavity on a white pickguard.
The White finish model lacks the gravure quilted top.
The TV550 is a similar model without the decorative top and with a pearloid pickguard. The gravure-topped model was known as the TV750 in the US.
