The TR70 is a TR series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1996. It was produced in South Korea by Cor-Tek as part of the Standard line.
The TR80 features a double-cutaway plywood body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with black dot position markers and a maple headstock. Components include Ibanez Powersound (P/J) configuration pickups, a Standard 4 string fixed bridge with 19mm string spacing, a plastic nut, black pickguard and chrome hardware.
For 1997 the fingerboard was offered in maple with black dots for the Japanese market until 1998. The Body was changed to Agathis for the European and US market.
For 1998 the body was changed to Mahogany.
The TR75 is a five string version. The TR80 is a similar model with maple fretboard.
