The TQMS1 is an AZS series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in mid-2022. It is a signature model of English fusion guitarist Tom Quayle. It is produced in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The TQMS1 features a maple top on an alder body bolted to an S-Tech roasted maple oval C shaped neck with a rosewood fingerboard with a compound radius, 22 stainless steel frets, mother of pearl dot position markers, and luminescent side dots. Components include Seymour Duncan pickups with a Magic Touch mini-humbucker at the bridge and a Alnico Pro II Custom single-coil mounted in a traditional steel plate at the neck, a non-recessed T1802 two-point synchronized tremolo bridge with titanium saddles made by Gotoh, an oil-impregnated bone nut, an angled output jack, and Gotoh locking tuning machines with height-adjustable posts.
The TQMS1 employs a dyna-MIX5 switching system (see diagram below) with an "Alter switch" toggle which allows the user to access five distinct tones. The Alter switch allows the player to access two modes with the single coils connected in series creating a tone similar to a second humbucker.
The TQMS1 was introduced at the 2022 Summer NAMM show.
