The TM1702 is a Talman series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in mid 2015. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line. It represents the reintroduction of the series which had been discontinued in 1998.
The TM1702 features an alder body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include a retro-style fixed bridge, dual Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II single coil pickups, a bone nut and Gotoh locking tuning machines.
The headstock of the TM1702 features a straight-pull design, which allows the strings to come straight off the bone nut, thus eliminating the need for a string tree or a tilt-back design. The fretboard has a 12" (305mm) radius which is flatter than many traditional style guitars, enhancing the player's ability to bend notes and allowing for a lower action.

The TM1702M is the TM1702's twin, except for its maple fretboard. The TM1702P is another very similar model with a pearloid pickguard. The TM1730 is similar except for the addition of a third pickup and tremolo bridge.
The TM1702 was discontinued after 2017 along with all of the Talman models in the Prestige line.
