The TCM50 is a Talman acoustic series acoustic/electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in mid 2002. It is made in China.
The TCM50 features a double cutaway body with a figured ash top with a tri-oval soundhole and a wooden marquetry pickguard on mahogany back and sides. The mahogany neck has a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and white dot position markers. Electronics consist of an Ibanez AP2 magnetic pickup connected to an Ibanez AEQ200M preamp with 2-band EQ powered by a 9V battery, and feeding a ¼" output jack.
The neck profile and scale length were changed for 2010 and again for 2019. For 2018 the rosewood fretboard and bridge was replaced with purpleheart. For 2019 the mahogany neck was replaced with okoume. For 2021 the body dimensions were changed very slightly and the preamp was changed to the AEQ2TM with an onboard tuner.
The TCM50E is a similar model with an on-board tuner. The TCM20064 and TCM60 are related models with a spruce top and heart soundhole design. The TCM71 is a related model with flamed maple top and back.
