The Studio series is a line of solid body electric guitar and bass models produced by Hoshino Gakki and sold under the Ibanez brand. It was introduced in 1978 and offered for a period of five years until 1982.
The Studio models have a body shape similar to that of the Musician series, but without the neck-through-body construction that typifies the Musician line; the Studio models have either set-in or bolt-on necks.
The initial Studio guitar models had multi-piece bodies made up of two or more wood species and set-in necks. The higher end models had active EQ systems.
A number of double neck Studio models were released including 6 & 12-string guitar models with both bolt-on and set-in necks, a 6-string guitar and 4 string bass model and a 12 string guitar and 4 string bass model.
Studio bass models were introduced for 1980 with Quadra-Lock bolt-on neck joints.
