The SV470 is an SV series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1992. This version was made in Japan by FujiGen; another model with the same name which was made in Korea was offered in the United States in 1995 only. The two models are similar but have some differences, most notably the pickups.
The SV series features the Viper neck which is thicker than the Wizard necks on the typical S series models.
The SV470 features a mahogany body bolted to a maple Viper neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include dual Ibanez Vintage humbucking pickups flanking an Ibanez single-coil and a synchronized tremolo bridge with gold finish and Gotoh locking tuning machines.
The SV470 was discontinued after 1997 and replaced by the SV5470F, which was part of the expanded Prestige line.
