The SRXHRG1 is a limited edition Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2006. It was produced in South Korea as part of the H. R. Giger series with body covered in a graphic print of a portion of Giger's painting NY City X.
The SRXHRG1 features the distinctive artwork of H.R. Giger, the creator of the "Brain Salad Surgery" album cover for the band ELP and the man behind the design of the creature from the "Alien" movies. It features lightweight basswood construction, a rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets, a 3-piece SRX4 maple neck with thru-body design, and two PFR-4 pickups channeled through a 2-band EQ. The body, headstock and neck are finished in a satin gray finish that blend into the graphics.
The SRXHRG1 is the only signature model of the SRX line.
The SRXHGR1 was offered only in 2006 and just 500 units were produced.
