The SRGT42 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2003. It was a spot model which was made by Cort in South Korea exclusively for sale through Shimamura Gakki stores in Japan.
The SRGT42 features a neck-through-body construction with American basswood body wings on a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and white dot position markers. Components include dual Ibanez infinity humbucking pickups, an Edge Pro II double locking tremolo bridge and a locking nut.
The RGT42 is a nearly identical regular production model which was offered with different finishes. The RGT42SE is a similar model with a quilted maple top. The SRGT47FM is a related model with a flamed maple top and an added middle pickup.
