The SR885SM is a five string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2000. It was produced in Japan by FujiGen as part of the Standard line.
The SR885SM features a double-cutaway mahogany body with saman top bolted to a SR5 maple and wenge neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers and a black headstock. Components include an Accu-cast B25 fixed bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a pair of Ibanez Active Dynamicx pickups channeled through an active Vari-mid preamp with 3-band EQ, a plastic nut, black hardware and die-cast tuning machines.
The SR885 and SR885LE are related models with basswood body. The SR885LEL is a left-handel model.
