SR840 Transparent Red with black hardware (more images)
The SR840 is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2000. It was produced in Japan by FujiGen as part of the Standard line.
The SR840 features a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a mahogany and bubinga neck with a 24-fret wenge fingerboard with white side dots position markers and a black headstock. Components include an accu-cast B20 fixed bridge with 19mm string spacing, and a pair of IBZ SFR-S pickups channeled through a Vari-mid 3-band EQ, a plastic nut, cosmo black hardware and gotoh tuning machines.
For the Japanese market, the SR840 was offered in a single finish. The Transparent Red (TR) with black hardware and for the European market, two finishes were offered: The Transparent Blue (TB) and Transparent Red (TR) with gold hardware.
