The SR705 is a five string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2008. It was originally produced in South Korea but production moved to Indonesia for 2009. It is part of the Standard line.
The SR705 features a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a jatoba and bubinga SR5 neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone ovals position markers. Components include a pair of Bartolini MK-1 pickups, an Accu-cast B25 fixed bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, die-cast machine heads. Controls consist of a single volume, balancer, and Bartolini MK1 3-band EQ with treble, bass, and mid boost/cut.
For 2012 the bridge was replaced with the new Accu-cast B305 and the Bartolini EQ was replaced with an EQB-IIIS unit.
