The SR690 is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1992. It was crafted in Japan by FujiGen as part of the Standard line.
The SR690 features a double-cutaway ash body bolted to a mapel neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dots position markers and a matching headstock. Components include a pair Standard (J/P) pickup's on the neck and bridge positions, an Accu-cast BIV solid bridge with 19mm string spacing. Controls are Volume, tone, balance and black hardware.
For 1996 the components change to a pair IBZ DX-JP pickup's on the neck and bridge positions, an Accu-cast B20 solid bridge with 19mm string spacing, a Vari-Mid 3-Band EQ preamp. The controls changed to: Volume, balance, treble boost/cut, bass boost/cut, mid range boost/cut, mid range frequency.
