The SR506 is a six string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in 2004. It was produced initially in South Korea, but production moved to Indonesia in 2008. It is part of the Standard line.
The SR506 features a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a wenge and bubinga neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Bartolini MK-1 passive pickups with an EQB-IIIS 3-Band EQ with mid-frequency toggle, an Accu-cast B106 bridge with 16.5 mm string spacing, a plastic nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
The SR500 and SR505 are four and five string versions, respectively. The SR506M is a similar model with a maple fretboard.
The SR506 was discontinued after 2018 and replaced by the SR506E .
