The SR506 is a six string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in 2004. It was made in Indonesia as part of the standard line.
The SR506 features a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a wenge and bubinga neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Bartolini® MK-1 passive pickups with an EQB-IIIS 3-Band EQ with Mid Frequency Switch, an Accu-cast B106 bridge with 16.5 mm string spacing, a plastic nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
The SR500 and SR505 are similar four and five string models. The SR506M is a similar model with a maple fretboard.
The SR506 was discontinued after 2018 and replaced by the SR506E
