The SR505QM is a five string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in 2012. It was produced in Indonesia as a spot model which was sold only through select retailers.
The SR505QM features a quilted maple top on a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a jatoba and bubinga SR5 neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Bartolini MK1-5 passive pickups with an Ibanez EQB-IIIS with 3-band EQ and 2-way mid-frequency selector, an Accu-cast B305 fixed bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a plastic nut, and Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
The SR500QM is a four string version. The SR505 is a similar model without the quilted maple top. Several versions with other exotic wood tops were also produced: the SR505PB (poplar burl), SR505SM (spalted maple), and SR505ZW (zebrawood).
