The SR505E is a five string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2019. It is produced in Indonesia as part of the standard line. It replaced the SR505.
The SR505E features a double-cutaway okoume body bolted to a jatoba and walnut neck with a 24-fret jatoba fingerboard with abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Bartolini BH2 passive pickups channeled through an Ibanez custom preamp with a bypassable three-band EQ, an Accu-cast bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a plastic nut, and Ibanez tuning machines.
For 2021 the fretboard material was changed to rosewood, the hardware was changed to black (from black matte), and a new TV Fuzz Black finish was added as a limited option for some markets.
The SR500E and SR506E are four and six string versions, respectively. The SR505EL is a left-handed version. The SR505EPB is a similar model with a poplar burl top. The SR505EZW is a similar model with a zebra wood top.
