The SR505B is a five string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in late 2016. It was produced initially in South Korea, but production moved to Indonesia in 2008. It is part of the Standard line and is a spot model which never appeared in an annual catalog.
The SR505B features a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a jatoba and bubinga SR5 neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Bartolini MK1-5 passive pickups with an Ibanez Custom Electronics BEQ3 preamp with a 3-band EQ and a 3-way mid-frequency toggle, an Accu-cast B305 fixed bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a plastic nut, and Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
The SR500B is a similar four string model. The SR505 is a similar regular production model with cosmo black hardware.
