The SR500QM is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2011. It was produced in Indonesia as part of the Standard line.
The SR500QM features a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a jatoba and bubinga SR4 neck with a 24-fret rosewood fretless fingerboard with abalone ovals position markers and a brown headstock. Components include a pair of Bartolini MK1 soapbar humbucking pickups, an Accu-cast B20 fixed bridge with 19mm string spacing, an Ibanez EQB-IIIS 3-band EQ w/ mid-frequency toggle. Controls are volume, balance, treble boost/cut, bass boost/cut, mid boost/cut, Die-cast machine heads and cosmo black hardware.
The SMB gloss finish was made exclusively for Japanese retailer Kurosawa Gakki and was offered in a limited edition of just 28 pieces.
The SR505QM is a five string version. The SR500 is a similar model without the poplar burl top. Several versions with other exotic wood tops were also produced: the SR500PB (poplar burl), SR500SM (spalted maple), and SR500ZW (zebrawood).
The SR500QM was discontinued after 2012. The SR500SM is a similar model with spalted maple top.
