The SR500E is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in 2019. It is made in Indonesia as part of the standard line. It replaced the SR500.
The SR500E features a double-cutaway okoume body bolted to a jatoba and walnut neck with a 24-fret jatoba fingerboard with abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Bartolini BH2 passive pickups channeled through an Ibanez custom preamp with a bypassable three-band EQ, an Accu-cast bridge with 19mm string spacing, a plastic nut, and Ibanez tuning machines.
For 2021 the fretboard material was changed to rosewood, the hardware was changed to black (from black matte), and a new TV Fuzz Black finish was added as a limited option for some markets.
The SR505E and SR506E are five and six string versions, respectively. The SR500EPB is a similar model with a poplar burl top. The SR500EZW is a similar model with a zebra wood top.
