The SR500B is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2016. It was made in Indonesia. Five finishes was made and three of them specially made for the Ikebe Gakki musical instrument stores in Japan.
The SR500B features a poplar burl top on a double cutaway mahogany body bolted to a jatoba and bubinga neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone oval position markers and a matching headstock. Components included a pair of Bartolini® MK-1 passive pickups, an Accu-cast B300 bridge, and matte black hardware. Controls consist of a volume, balance, treble boost/cut, bass boost/cut, mid boost/cut, two-way mid frequency selector (250hz, 600hz), and an Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ w/Mid frequency switch.
The SR505B is a five string version. The SR500 is a similar model without the poplar burl top
The SR500B was discontinued after two years of production.
