The SR5000 is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2015. It is made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line. It replaced the similar SR5000E.
The SR5000 features a wenge top and back on a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a titanium reinforced wenge and bubinga Atlas neck with a 24-fret wenge fingerboard with mother of pearl and abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of custom Bartolini passive pickups with an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, individually mounted Mono-rail V bridges with 19mm string spacing, a teflon-impregnated Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
For 2018 the body species was clarified as African mahogany. For 2019 the wenge and bubinga neck was replaced with wenge and walnut and the bridges were replaced with the new Mono-rail 5S which offers side-to-side adjustment of the saddle.
The SR5005 and SR5006 are similar five and six string models. The SR30HM4 is a similar model with a figured heartwood maple top and back.
