The SR4006E is a six string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2013. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The SR4006E features a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a titanium reinforced Atlas-6 HP wenge and bubinga neck with a 24-fret wenge fingerboard with white pearl oval position markers and a rosewood headstock. Components include a pair of USA-made Bartolini Custom soapbar humbucking pickups feeding a Power Curve III preamp with 3-band EQ, individually mounted Mono-rail IV fixed bridges with 16.5mm string spacing, a Graph TUSQ XL nut, and Gotoh tuning machines.
Controls consist of a single volume; a balancer; a 3-band EQ allowing individual boost or cut of up to ±12dB for treble, midrange, and bass; a Mid-Q control to adjust the midrange crossover points; and a toggle to bypass the preamp and send the signal from the pickups directly to the ¼" output.
The knobs were changed for 2014.
The SR4000E and SR4005E are four string and five string versions, respectively. The SR5006E is a similar model with a wenge front and back.
The SR4006E was discontinued after 2014.
