The SR300DX is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in mid-1997. It was initially made in South Korea, but production moved to Indonesia in 2003.
The SR300DX features a double-cutaway agathis body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez DX P/J pickups with an Ibanez Phat bass boost preamp, an EB-5 stamped bridge, a graphite nut and Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
For 1999 the fretboard inlays were changed from 4mm to 5mm white dots. For 2002 a new die-cast bridge was introduced. For 2003 the bridge was changed to the Accu-Cast B100 and the position markers were changed to pearl dots. For 2004 the Phat EQ was replaced with an Ibanez EQB-IIC preamp w/ a 2-band EQ.
The SR305DX is a five string version model. The SR300DXF is a fretless version. The SR300DXL is a left-handed version.
