The SR2505 is a five string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in mid-2013. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line and was offered for sale only in Japan.
The SR2505 features a double-cutaway alder body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Sonic Arch 5 soapbar humbucking pickups feeding an Ibanez Custom Electronics BEQIII preamp with 3-band EQ, individually mounted Mono-rail IV fixed bridges with 16.5mm string spacing, a Graph TUSQ XL nut, and Gotoh tuning machines.
Controls consist of a single volume; a balancer; a 3-band EQ allowing individual boost or cut of up to ±12dB for treble, midrange, and bass; and a 3-way toggle mid-frequency selector.
The SR2500 is a four string version. The SR2505M is a similar model with a maple fretboard.
The SR2505 was discontinued after 2014.
