The SR250 is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2012. It was initially produced in China, but production was moved to Indonesia in mid-2017.
The SR250 features a double-cutaway nato body bolted to a laminated maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez CAP EXF-N2 passive pickups feeding an EQB-IIID preamp with 3-band EQ, an Accu-cast B10 fixed bridge, and Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
For 2013 the body material was changed to basswood and the pearl dot fretboard inlays gave way to acrylic white dots. In mid-2017 with the migration of production to Indonesia the bridge was changed to the Accu-Cast B120. In mid-2019 the preamp was changed to the Ibanez Custom Electronics with 3-band EQ.
The SR250FM is a similar model with a flamed maple top. The SR255 and SR256 are five string and six string versions. The GSR250 is a related model in the entry-level GIO line.
