The SR1705B is a five string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in 2018. It was made in Indonesia as part of the mid-tier Premium line. It is also referred to as the SR1705BE in some materials for the US market.
The SR1705B features a poplar burl and walnut top on a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a titanium reinforced panga panga and purpleheart Atlas neck with a 24-fret panga panga fingerboard with binding and abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Nordstrand Big Single passive pickups with an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, a Mono-rail bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a GraphTech Black TUSQ nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
For 2019 the body material was specified as African mahogany.
The SR1700B is a similar four string model. The SR1305B is a similar model with an ash and walnut top. The SR1825 is a similar model with a walnut and flamed maple top and gold hardware.
The SR1705B was discontinued after 2019.
