The SR1600 is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2013. It was made in Indonesia as part of the mid-tier Premium line. It was offered for sale only in Europe.
The SR1600 features a poplar burl top on a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a titanium reinforced wenge and bubinga Atlas-4 neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Nordstrand Big Single passive pickups with an Ibanez EQB-IIISC preamp with a three-band EQ, individually mounted Mono-rail IV bridges with 19mm string spacing, a GraphTech Black TUSQ nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
Controls consist of a single volume; a balancer; a 3-band EQ allowing individual boost or cut of up to ±12dB for treble, midrange, and bass; a 3-way toggle mid-frequency crossover selector; and a toggle to bypass the preamp and send the signal from the pickups directly to the ¼" output.
The SR1605 is a five string version. The SR1800 is a similar model with a rosewood and flamed maple top and mahogany back on a walnut body. The SR1900E is a similar model with rosewood top & back on an ash body.
