The SR1406E is a six string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2015. It was made in Indonesia as part of the mid-tier Premium line. It was sold only in the US.
The SR1406E features a figured maple top on a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a titanium reinforced wenge and bubinga Atlas neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Nordstrand Big Single passive pickups with an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, individual Mono-rail bridges, a GraphTech Black TUSQ nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
The SR1400 and SR1405 are similar four and five string models, respectively. The SR1406TE is a related model with neck-through-body construction. The SR1306 is a similar model with an ash and walnut top.
