The SR1400 is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in mid-2011. It was made in Indonesia as part of the mid-tier Premium line. In the US market it was referred to as the SR1400E.
The SR1400 features a figured maple top on a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a titanium reinforced wenge and bubinga Atlas neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Nordstrand Big Single passive pickups with an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, a Mono-rail bridge with 19mm string spacing, a GraphTech Black TUSQ nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
For 2018 the rosewood fretboard was replaced with panga panga and the wenge and bubinga neck was replaced with pangapanga and purpleheart.
The SR1405 and SR1406E are similar five and six string models. The SR1400T is a related model with neck-through-body construction. The SR1200 is a similar model with an ovangkol top. The SR1300 is a similar model with an ash and walnut top. The SR1820 is a similar model with a walnut and flamed maple top.
The SR1400 was discontinued after 2018.
