The SR1206 is a six string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2012. It was made in Indonesia as part of the mid-tier Premium line. In the US market it was referred to as the SR1206E.
The SR1206 features an ovangkol top on a double-cutaway mahogany body bolted to a titanium reinforced wenge and bubinga Atlas neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Nordstrand Big Single passive pickups with an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, individually mounted Mono-rail IV bridges with 16.5mm string spacing, a GraphTech Black TUSQ nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
The SR1200 and SR1205 are similar four and five string models. The SR1406 is a similar model with a figured maple top.
