The SR1000E is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1987 (first year of production of SR Series). It was produced in Japan by FujiGen.
The SR1000E features an alder body bolted to a super slim maple neck with the typical "lip" at the end of the neck, an ebony 24 frets fingerboard with pearl dot position markers and elegant curvy body. Passive pickups built by DiMarzio for Ibanez USA, as well as the active Power Curve electronics with two differently strong boosts and a control for the processed frequency ensured the good sound on the amp. Gotoh supplied the high-quality hardware.
Between 1987 and 1990 eleven finishes were made four of those: The Cherry Ice (CI), Fountain Blue (FB), Jewel Red (JR) and Pearl (PL) were made exclusively for the US market. One of those The Crystal Pearl (CP) made exclusively for Japan and the Coral Mist Metallic (CM) was made exclusively for Europe.
The SR1100E is a related model with Sen or Ash body. The SR1000CT1 is a related model with a Figured maple and figured mahogany body.
