The SG10 is an acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1983. It was a signature model for American guitarist Stefan Grossman who is known for his fingerstyle playing method. It was produced in Japan.
The SG10 features an orchestra model acoustic body shape (although it's described in one catalog as an "SG-Dreadnought"). The top is solid spruce with herringbone purfling and pink celluloid binding on rosewood sides and a two piece rosewood back. The round soundhole has a herringbone rosette with a tortoise pickguard. It has a mahogany neck with a 20-fret ebonized rosewood fingerboard with small stylized cross position markers. Components include a True-Tune saddle in a rosewood bridge, ivory bridge pins, and chrome Smooth Tuner II tuning machines.
A photo of Grossman holding an SG10 appears on the cover of Grossman's 1990 album Guitar Landscapes.[1]
