The SDGB1 is a five string fretless BTB series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2023. It is a signature model for bassist Steve Di Giorgio who is best known for his work with the American death-thrash metal band Sadus. It is produced in Indonesia.
The SDGB1 features neck through body construction with a flamed maple top over ash and okume wings attached to a maple, bubinga and panga panga neck with graphite reinforcement rods and a fretless ebonol fingerboard. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Nordstrand Big Single passive pickups with a Vari-mid III 3-band EQ preamp with EQ bypass switch, individually mounted Mono-rail bridges with 19mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik stereo output jack, a plastic nut, and Gotoh tuning machines.
